Dominique Rogeau, Vice-President of the Foundation, and Dr. Herbert Schneider, President of the Foundation express their Congratulations The fourth child whom 'Enfance et vie Fondation Rogeau' helped to survive was Adriana Galeata.

The diagnosis of the tiny girl was: Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is the persistence of a normal foetal structure between the left pulmonary artery and the descending aorta.
Persistence of this foetal structure beyond 10 days of life is considered abnormal and can prove fatal.

Adriana was born on the 18th of September 2005 at Ialoveni, Republic of Moldova in a very modest family: her father, Gheorghe, is a bus driver with a monthly income of USD 50. Her mother, Eugenia, is a housewife.

Prof. Dr. René Prêtre from the Kinderspital Zurich took Adriana under his care. The surgical operation was consisting in the ligature of the patent ductus arteriosus.

After the operation Adriana remained 24 hours under intensive care. Everything passed without any complications.

After 7 days of medical care Adriana could leave the hospital and rejoin her family.

The child can be considered as completely recovered. We wish Adriana a lot of luck and success in her life.
